Are your scrunchies handmade?
Yes — every Ami Mochi scrunchie is handcrafted in Yokohama, Japan, using Japan-made yarns and curated fabrics.
Small variations in size, texture, or colour are natural and part of the handmade charm.
What materials do you use?
Our pieces are made using carefully sourced yarns and fabrics selected in Japan, chosen for their texture, colour, and overall character.
We work with a mix of materials — including Japan-made yarns and textiles, as well as unique finds from specialty shops — always prioritising quality, balance, and how each element comes together in the final design.
Are your pieces made to order?
Yes — most Ami Mochi pieces are made to order in small batches by hand. Each drop specifies whether items are made-to-order or ready-to-ship, and the lead time is shown on the product page.
Do you keep items in stock?
Occasionally. Some seasonal drops include one-of-a-kind finished pieces that are ready to ship. When a piece is ready-to-ship, it will be clearly marked on the product page. Otherwise, please expect a short handmade lead time.
How long is the processing time?
Lead time depends on the piece:
Ready-to-ship pieces: 1–3 business days.
Made-to-order pieces: typically 5–10 business days, confirmed on each product page.
Custom or personalised orders: lead time discussed and confirmed before order is placed.
Shipping time is separate from processing time and depends on your location.
Can I request a custom or personalised piece?
Yes — for custom colours, personalised gifting, or larger quantities (corporate gifts, weddings, events, seasonal gift sets), please contact us before ordering so we can confirm timing and feasibility. Custom pieces are case by case.
Why does it take time to receive my order?
Every Ami Mochi piece is handmade — fabric cut, sewn, and finished with a hand-crocheted edge, one piece at a time. The wait is part of how each piece is made with care.
Where do you ship from?
All orders are shipped from Yokohama, Japan.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide from Japan.
International orders qualify for free shipping on orders over ¥9,800.
Shipping rates and delivery times vary by destination and will be calculated at checkout.
How long does shipping take?
Estimated delivery times:
- Japan: 1–3 days
- Asia: 4–10 days
- US / Europe / Australia: 7–14 days
Actual times may vary based on customs and seasonal delays.
Will I be charged customs or import taxes?
Depending on your country, customs or VAT may apply.
These fees are the responsibility of the customer.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, as well as PayPal.
All payments are processed securely at checkout.
A PayPal account is not required to pay by credit or debit card.
Do you accept returns?
Due to hygiene reasons, we do not accept returns or exchanges unless the item arrives damaged or defective.
